 This
image was processed from a frame of the 1960 movie, "The Great Impostor"
starring Tony Curtis. It illustrates a portion of the radio room aboard
a Tribal class destroyer of the 1950's. The operator depicted in the photo
would copy the CW broadcast on the manual typewriter. At the extreme left
of the photo is the Marconi CM11 transmitter. In the upper center is the
Marconi CSR5 high frequency receiver. At the upper right is the Marconi
MSL5 low frequency receiver. All of this equipment is featured in other
sections of the radio room tour. |
